Mother’s Day

As Mother’s Day is literally right next door, many of us may find ourselves tapping our feet, shifting between the thoughts, reliving happy memories of childhood or key milestones in in your lives, whilst some of us may be doing just the same, yet reliving the remembrance of the pain as some of our mothers are no longer with us.

We as children take our mothers for granted, there I said it? Just for the simple, yet strongest element of life “LOVE” our mothers go through life; worrying, stressing, overthinking, working hard, loving harder, forever present, all justl to ensure we are just OKAY.

What would we do without them?? A question we ask many times, yet no one has the answer to. They choose to stick with us throughout it all regardless if at times they liked/love it or not they were there.

As a new mother I see how much women sacrifice, the body changes, the early rises, the school runs, eating after our children does, the late nights with little to no sleep, the added extra responsibilities as a single mother, working and keep two eyes at the back of my head making sure the little one is okay. No matter the family size of your family or the uniqueness of it, mothers have and will always be the guardians of our wellbeing’s, however young or old we get. Mothers really are the pinnacle of the family, our human teddy bear, and superman all roles into one.

All the while, as we talk about all that our mothers do and have done, I haven’t ever heard of anyone discuss of further the topic of how the everyday life and responsibilities can have an effect, as a result on the human body. For example; the high tensioned back knots, the weight gain – as most doesn’t have time to hit the gym, the early wrinkles and fine lines from the constant worrying / nagging / stress kids can put one through. Whilst mothering with a smile on their faces, some of you may or may not have seen the tears they cried, or saw how they worried about paying a bill or putting a meal on the table, or just making sure you were okay. In some extreme cases, some mothers find themselves on the steeper end dealings with high blood pressure, mental health disorders, diabetes and do on.

So let’s use this time to hug and kiss our mothers, thanking them for all they’ve done. Being the first people to love us, who was our safe place to cry and lay our heads on.

However, you choose to do it, (in your small or grand gestures) tell your mother, remind her how much she is loved, and yes, yes I am well aware we all still on house arrest with COVID – 19. But I think because of that, it makes this mother’s day of 2021, so much more special, we have lost so many people to this virus.

As we get older we all realise regardless of our successes, the highs and lows of life, the only thing we can hold on to is our memories, so to the mums, new mum’s capture EVERYTHING this is something I’ve been doing myself, example recording bath times, when they’re sleeping, the first crawl, the first step (soon). Laugh a lot, if you think you’re doing a lot pf that right now do more, these are the things we are children don’t forget the Funny moments – record it if you can.
